Returning your Beyond safely - Packaging Guide

Edited

Overview

Sometimes, you might need to send your Beyond back to us for inspection or repair, as part of the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process. It's your duty to ensure your Beyond is safe and snug inside proper packaging so that it arrives back safely!

This guide serves as a reference for proper return packaging recommendations.

Returning in Original Packaging

Returning the Beyond in its original packaging, if available, is always the safest choice. However, your return may be shipped back in generic packaging. If you wish to keep the colorful outer box ("Cyberbox"), we recommend utilizing your own packaging.
Removing the foam from inside the Cyberbox and placing it inside a generic box makes a great option.

Place the Cyberbox inside a slightly larger box to avoid the lid opening, ideally 10" x 7" x 6" (~25cm x 18cm x 15cm). Small boxes are preferable. If a slightly larger box must be used, use packing material (e.g. bubble wrap, crumpled cardboard paper, air bags or similar) to ensure the Cyberbox cannot shift inside.

Cyberbrick

If you purchased a Beyond 2 Upgrade Kit without accessories, your order may have came in the "Cyberbrick", a small package perfectly suited for shipping just your Beyond.

Protecting the Beyond

If using original packaging, try to follow a packaging order like so:

  1. Take your headset, and protect it from outside forces. This can be achieved in a few ways, such as...

    1. Wrapping it several times in bubble wrap

    2. Placing it inside sturdy foam sized/cut to approximate size

    3. Placing it inside a small plastic container or cardboard box where it cannot move or have objects touch the lenses.

  2. Then, place the protected Beyond inside a larger box. Add packing material to take up all airspace and ensure the Beyond cannot rattle when shaking the box.

  3. Tape and secure all flaps, then place the return label on the box and tape it down.

Good Packaging Examples

1. Smaller box in a bigger box

2. Beyond well bubblewrapped inside small box

3. Audio Strap box well secured in larger box

BAD Packaging Examples

1. Beyond unpackaged in larger box without sufficient material to restrain

The Shipping Label

For returning your Beyond, we will provide a shipping label to you. Depending on your region and circumstance, it may be:

International: DHL Express, UPS

Domestic (USA): UPS, USPS, FedEx

You may arrange for a pickup through DHL Express at no extra charge through their website. If you are unable to utilize the label provided, let your support agent know.

Using the label

To use the label, you'll need to print it off and attach it to the box. If it is an international shipment, it may come with 3 copies of the commercial invoice - attach one to the box, hand one to the shipper, and keep the third for your records.

Cost

  • If the return is being done under warranty, standard return shipping will be provided at no cost.

  • If it is outside warranty or a choice return (for refund), a label may be provided for $29USD within the USA. If international, we will fetch a quote for your address and provide a label.

    • If you do not wish to use the label due to its cost, ignore the label email. Labels will not be charged until utilized.

Returning directly

If you wish to return directly to us, ask your support agent for our return address.

If this is an international shipment, please keep the following in mind:
